Self-Service Library
The main library and our branches in Forsand, Høle and Riska offer a self-service library with extended opening hours. During self-service hours, the public can access the library using their library card and PIN code.
During self-service hours, you can:
- Borrow, return and pick up material you have ordered
- Read newspapers, magazines and books
- Use public computers and free wireless internet
- Scan, copy and print documents using Princh (Self-service copying and scanning is only possible at the main library)
- Work or relax, alone or with others
All patrons over the age of 15 have access to the self-service library. There are exceptions at the branch libraries for secondary school pupils. You identify yourself at the door with your library card and PIN. Access is personal and should not be shared with other adults. Guardians can bring children under the age of 15. Children under 15 years old should not be left alone in the library during self-service hours. Institutions do not have access to the self-service library.
You should feel safe and comfortable when you visit us when the library is unstaffed. Therefore, the library is under video surveillance. This is for your safety and to secure the library's inventory and equipment.
If you experience insecurity or harassment at Sandnes library during self-service hours, you can contact security via the assistance button installed on the grey wall near the public machine on the 2nd floor.
