Events
The library serves as a vibrant venue hosting a diverse array of activities and events spanning multiple categories, including:
Music and concerts, literature and storytelling, conversations, debates and lectures.
We also provide social meet-ups and offer workshops fostering creativity.
Throughout the year, we regularly organize workshops tailored for children and youth during festive seasons and school breaks such as:
Christmas, Halloween, Easter, the Norwegian Constitution Day (17th of May), autumn and winter vacations.
While these events are typically free, due to limited seating, advance registration is advised to secure a spot.
Similar arrangements are available for adults, with most events being free of charge but requiring prior registration.
For more information about the library’s program and upcoming activities, please visit the 'Events' section on the main Sandnes Library website.
Updates and information are also available on our social media platforms and in printed brochures.
Litt Sandnes:
Litt.Sandnes is Sandnes Library's literary festival. It has been held since 2015. Since 2023, the festival has been held in February.
What is Litt.Sandnes?
The goal of the festival is to convey exciting cultural expressions and current social related issues in various forms. Over the years, Litt.Sandnes has been a platform for discussions about fiction, lectures related to non-fiction topics, panel discussions about literature and society, poetry and music evenings, theatre performances, and more.
In 2020, the library expanded its festival offerings for children. This part of the festival is now called BitteLitt.Sandnes.
Litt. Sandnes program details will be accessible on the library's website and will also be distributed in printed brochures prior to the commencement of the festival.
